FAQ
Our Products:
1. Where are your products made?
All our confections are handcrafted, packaged, and stored in a homestead kitchen in Derry, NH.
2. What is a homestead kitchen?
A homestead kitchen is a residential kitchen located on personal property. You can view New Hampshire regulations on Homestead Food Operations for more information.
3. Does your candy need to be refrigerated?
All of our confections are shelf-stable at room temperature (70°F, or 21°C) for between 6-18 weeks (all packages are labeled with best by dates). They should be stored in a dry, cool, dark place, such as a cupboard, and resealed after opening to prevent moisture migration or condensation.
If your house is warmer than 70-72°F or if you live in a humid climate, you can refrigerate the candy, but make sure it is kept sealed in an air-tight container to prevent condensation. If you do not intend to open the candy right away, you can store it in the freezer for up to 6 months. Thaw it in the refrigerator overnight before eating, otherwise it will effect the texture and taste.
4. Do you offer dairy-free, sugar-free, or allergen-free products?
At this time, we do not have the capabilities to honor any special dietary requests. While we do use commercial-grade cleaning products between each batch, we cannot guarantee that cross-contamination won't occur. We advise against consuming any of our products if you have severe nut or dairy allergies.
As we are focused on traditional New England products and recipes, we do not currently make any product with dairy or sugar alternatives.
5. Do you take custom orders or flavor requests?
We do not currently offer custom orders or flavors. All our products are researched and designed according to historical New England confections as well as seasonally available ingredients. If you want to suggest a flavor for future candies, please reach out to us, we love hearing your ideas!
